Branding is one of my favorite design jobs.  Creating the visual identity for an organization that will help the public recognize and relate to their mission, support them and get involved, takes a special kind of communication and understanding, facilitation and patience until the essence becomes clear and just the right tone is identified.
I designed this logo for Rocketfeather Creative, my husband's podcasting and outreach consulting business.
Preliminary design for local political group.
One of my proudest achievements, the YCFLD logo solidified after months of collaboration and iteration.  It shows the rural mountainous landscape common across Yavapai County, the freedom and support provided by libraries and resources, and the well-oiled machinery that makes it all possible.
I updated the existing logo for the Library Network.  After vigorous polling of Network members, it became evident that the old logo meant a lot to people, so instead of a radical rebranding effort, I brushed up the existing logo and shifted the palette to work better with the YCFLD logo [above], as they appeared together frequently.
We re-branded our podcast after year 1 when we got a more specific idea of our mission of strengthening connection and community.  After year 2 we drilled down even further and refined our branding to reflect sustainability as an added component of our mission.
This logo, for a fundraising event, started with an actual hand-carved block print  polished in digital format.
I created this logo for a state-wide consortium my Director founded to aid libraries in purchasing tech equipment.  Arizona is the Copper State.
Early iteration of music festival logo.  Mentoring was made a fundamental part of the event to reflect the mission of the organization.  The headliner that year was a reggae musician.
This logo was the result of a full re-branding effort.  The task was to move from a logo that suggested a hierarchical hiking group to an image that communicated the fundamental egalitarian, inclusive nature of the organization and the work they do, most of which takes place in a circle.  This image shows that circle from above, with each member supporting and being supported.

Updated logo modified for annual music festival.
